What Ros
means.

Ros comes from the Scottish Gaelic word for headland — the place where land meets sea. Steady. Enduring. In older roots, it also speaks to renown — something known, remembered, carried forward. It is also the Gaelic root of the name Ross.

To us, Ros holds a quieter meaning too. Not something loud. Just something that sits underneath it all.

Where Ros
comes from.

Ros began in 2017 as Rosco Beard Co. — a small batch grooming range made by hand at home. The name came from Rosco, the nickname of Jarrod's dad Ross. It felt like the right way to carry his name forward.

It started with something simple. Dry, irritated skin beneath the beard — and products that weren't doing the job. With a background in beauty therapy, Tara began formulating products designed to treat, heal and hydrate the skin first — with grooming as the second step.

What started at home quickly became something people noticed. At markets across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty, products sold out and a loyal following built around quality, consistency, and word of mouth.

Then life moved. Homes were bought and renovated. A family began. Two children, a move from Hamilton to Tauranga, and a full few years where the brand was quietly set aside.

Not because it didn't matter — but because other things mattered more at the time.

But it never really went away. People kept asking. For the balm. For the oil. For the products they'd used and remembered.

So in 2026, we brought it back. Now simply Ros — a name that carries a little more meaning. Scottish Gaelic for headland. Old Germanic for renown. And to us, quietly: Roots of Sons.

Everything is still handcrafted in New Zealand. Still made in small batches. No nasties, nothing hidden. Now with three scent lines — Lineage, Honour and Tribute — and a full range in matte black glass with bamboo lids.

Tara still makes every product by hand. Her mum Cathy now runs the operational side — packaging, orders, ingredients, the early mornings. A family business. Built properly this time.

"Not just a product. A ritual. Something used daily, without thought — then quietly passed on."

Nine years
in the making.

2024–25

The demand never went away.

A second home. Life expands again. And through all of it — people keep asking. "Are you still making it?" "Where can I get the balm?"

2026

Reborn as Ros.

Tara and her mum Cathy bring it back — with more depth, more clarity, and stronger foundations than before. Matte black glass. Bamboo lids. Three scent lines. A family business carried forward.

Three words that mean the same thing said three different ways.

A different scent for a different kind of man — or the same man at different moments.

Line 01

Lineage

Cedar · Oud · Vetiver

Shop →

"For everything passed on without knowing it."

Ancient, grounded, worn smooth by time. Cedar from old forests. Oud from resin that took decades to form. The scent of something that has always been there — a workshop, a leather chair, the back of a familiar coat.

Top Black Pepper · Bergamot
Heart Cedar · Oud · Leather
Base Vetiver · Dark Amber · Moss

Warm. Dark. Woody. Does not announce itself. Simply present, like a man who does not need to speak to fill a room.

Line 02

Honour

Eucalyptus · Sage · Musk

Shop →

"For the man who never asked for credit."

Clean. Considered. The scent of eucalyptus after rain and sage from a hillside. For the man who shows up without being asked. Quiet strength. The kind of man who does the right thing when nobody is watching.

Top Eucalyptus · Fresh Mint
Heart Sage · Green Tea · Juniper
Base White Musk · Cedarwood · Oakmoss

Clean. Fresh. Grounded. Not loud. Never loud. The scent of someone who takes care of himself and the people around him.

Line 03

Tribute

Sandalwood · Amber · Smoke

Shop →

"Not forgotten."

Sandalwood that lingers long after the room empties. Amber that warms slowly. A thread of smoke — something that was burning once and left its mark. Rich and unhurried. The deepest scent in the range.

Top Cardamom · Frankincense
Heart Sandalwood · Tobacco · Rose
Base Dark Amber · Smoke · Vanilla

Rich. Smoky. Bittersweet. The deepest scent in the range. The one you give as a gift when words are not enough.

Built on
a few simple beliefs.

01

Skin First

We formulate for what's beneath the beard, not just the beard itself. The skin comes first. Always.

02

Nothing Hidden

Short ingredient lists. Every component earns its place. We don't say all natural. We say: no nasties, nothing hidden.

03

Nut-Free by Design

Nut-free across the entire range — by design, not by accident. Safflower replaces sweet almond oil entirely.

04

Small Batch

Handcrafted in small batches. Never mass produced. Every jar and bottle made by hand in New Zealand.

05

NZ Made

Made in New Zealand — stated once, not used as a crutch. It is simply where we are and how we work.

06

Passed On

Built on legacy. Made for the next. A daily ritual that means something — quietly passed on without a word.
